Dai Novel

AI story game · World builder

You get one life.
Live a few more.

Dai Novel turns a single “what if” into an interactive AI story: a living world you play in your own words, a few minutes at a time.

Life one

What if you were reborn in a fantasy world of swords and magic?

No sword, no name, no map. One dragon, already curious.

Life two

What if you carried the last blade that can kill a demon?

The bells have stopped. Something is climbing the stairs.

Life three

What if you lived in a world of pirates?

The map is wrong. The sea serpent is not.

Life four

What if you were the only one who could pilot the robot?

Forty stories of steel, waiting. The hatch is already open.

Life five

What if you were one breakthrough away from ruling the martial world?

The cranes have gathered. Your sword is already in the air.

Life 9,004

What if you were the main girl in an otome game?

Cherry blossoms, a bell at five, and a letter in your shoe locker. Unsigned.

For the hard to please

Not interested? How about a vending machine, or a rock… in an ASCII world?

Your lights come on at eight. The rock next to you has no comment.

Between lives

Seven questions.
Seven lives.
Still you.

You didn’t write a page. You asked, and a world answered.

Other people left a light on. Step into one of their worlds

How the AI story game works

Create any world. Become anything.

Dai Novel is an interactive AI novel: a story already in motion before you arrive. It has its own people, history and trouble. You step in, say what you do, and it answers, like a text adventure that understands whole sentences. Not a tree of fixed choices: a world that remembers.

  1. Ask

Start with a single what if: reborn in an isekai, one breakthrough from ruling a cultivation sect, the heroine of an otome game, the only pilot of a giant robot. Dai Novel drafts the people, the places, the chapters and the art with you. Keep what you like, change what you don’t.

  2. Become

Choose who you are there, then play in your own words, one turn at a time. Say anything. The story answers what you actually said.

  3. Come back

A turn takes two minutes. Close the tab mid-scene; every life waits where you left it, and remembers what you did.

Emberfall · Turn 14

The gate sergeant doesn’t look up from his ledger. “Name.”

YouI give him my brother’s.

He writes it down without a pause. Behind you, the bells of the capital begin to ring.

Eleven turns later, a letter arrives for your brother.

Afterword

We build the valley.
You bring the worlds.

Dai Novel is made by a small team. We build the editor, the engine and this page. The worlds are another matter: people make them, publish them, and leave the door open for strangers.

Not all of it is finished, and we would rather say so here than in the small print.

New here? The blog covers what Dai Novel is, how AI interactive fiction grew out of text adventures, building your first story world, and why our stories remember.

So play something a stranger made. Publish something of your own; the creator docs are open. And when a world breaks, or surprises you, tell us at @dainovel.

Questions, briefly

Before you step in.

Short answers here. The FAQ and the creator docs have the long ones.

What is Dai Novel?
An interactive AI novel and story game. Someone builds a world first: its people, history and rules. You enter as one character, say what you do in your own words, and the next illustrated page answers.
Is it free?
Free to start, in your browser. Nothing to install.
How is it different from AI chat roleplay?
The world exists before you arrive, and you play one character, not the whole cast. Story phases its creator set keep the plot going somewhere instead of drifting.
Does it remember what I did?
The parts that matter. Promises, debts and betrayals go into long-term memory and come back when a later scene needs them. Not every line, by design.
Can I build my own world?
Yes. The World Editor keeps characters, places, maps and story phases together, with an AI helper whose changes you review. Publish it, and strangers can step in.

Who will you be next?
