Connect an AI Agent
Dai Novel runs an MCP server, so an AI agent you already use can work on your worlds: Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, or any other client that speaks the Model Context Protocol. The agent edits the same Codex you see in the World Editor, with the same checks as World Helper.
Who can connect
Agent access is invite-only for now. If your account does not have it yet, the sign-in page says so; ask us to turn it on.
Connect your agent
The server address is https://api.dainovel.ai/mcp. Add it to your agent, and the agent opens a Dai Novel sign-in page the first time it connects. Sign in with your usual account and select Allow.
claude mcp add --transport http dainovel https://api.dainovel.ai/mcp- Claude Desktop and claude.ai: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste the address.
- Cursor and VS Code: add a server with
"url": "https://api.dainovel.ai/mcp"to your MCP settings. - Codex CLI: add
[mcp_servers.dainovel]withurl = "https://api.dainovel.ai/mcp"to its config, then runcodex mcp login dainovel. - Agents that only run local servers: use
npx mcp-remote https://api.dainovel.ai/mcpas the command.
What the agent can do
- List your worlds and read a world's summary, premise, entities, relations, phases, map and landing page.
- Add and edit entities, relations, the premise, starting scenes, map markers and World Phases.
- Write the styled landing page.
- Generate images for entities, the cover, the Discover banner, the gallery and the map, look at them, and accept or reject them. It can also upload an image you already have, from a link or a file.
- Start a play test and give you the link.
- Publish a new version when you ask it to.
Every change is saved to your world right away. An open World Editor picks the change up within half a minute and keeps your unsaved edits. If you save while an agent works on the same world, your edits are saved on top of the agent's changes, so neither side's work is lost.
Credits and safety
The agent spends your credits the same way the editor does: images, avatar crops and public publishing cost credits, saving edits does not. Ask the agent to confirm before it generates many images or publishes. Generated images wait for review until the agent or you accept them.
Disconnect an agent
Open Settings from your account menu, choose Connected agents, and select Disconnect next to the agent. It can no longer renew its sign-in, so its access ends within the hour, and it has to sign in again to come back.
